Made in Sheffield England along an old English pattern we were excited to find this style of knife still in production, especially with the old style carbon steel blade
English style chef knives have a subtle but once you know it distinctive design; a triangular blade with a flat heel, (sometimes a nearly parallel spine and edge) and a saber shaped handle with small pointed birds head pommel.
These economically made knives have some small imperfections, slightly irregular edges or small cant to the blade, they are great work horses and great for history buffs. After going through boxes of vintage knives at flea markets for many many years finding an English chef knife is always a treat.
These are not stainless and need extra care to keep from rusting, that said they sharpen easily and hold a steeled edge nicely.
