Rubberized cork strop for de-burring knives; works best when chromium oxide is applied.
This cork strop is our shop favorite for everything aside from razors. It successfully de-burrs and enhances the finished polish; finely honing the work of the fine synthetic or natural stones. Since this strop is rubberized, it can be moistened with water to re-invigorate the compound lying just under the surface when needed. Chromium oxide only need be applied every 40-60 stroppings, as when it is layered thickly on top of the cork, it will simply flake off when dry.
When used with chromium oxide, let the compound fully dry before stropping. A small amount should be spread thinly over the strop and cover most of the strop face; a little goes a long way!
