Fast fine sub-mirror kasumi finish, can be used without nagura (just barely self slurries) but is faster with nagura. A great stone for beginners or experienced natural stone users, a good value for a full benchstone sized stone of this size
These are from an older stock (approx 20 years) that have somewhat generic markings with the Kyoto Natural Stone Association marking and Honyama on the side, we do not have mine or strata info. That said these are a nice easy to use stone that have a good fineness. Can be used without nagura but are much more efficent with one. Hideriyama Tomae?
